When I thought about change I thought about money. Quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies. Change. Individually, they aren't worth a lot of money. My kids like to collect them. My husband hates them. I don't like change....but when it's a tight week....and I would like a diet Coke....the first thing I do is look for my change. One of my children likes to search the couches, drawers, pockets, washing machine, car, etc for change. And then all of a sudden he is the rich one. It's hilarious. This week, my husband gave me a huge envelope...full of change. ALL pennies. And you know how much it turned out to be? 17 dollars. That is seventeen hundred pennies people. That is a LOT of change. So what is the lesson here? It's not a very mindblowing one....it's just this....watch your change....add it up....it could mean dinner...it could mean movies....it could mean a diet Coke in a fabulous Sonic Cup.
STOP
Silly....I know. :) Can't always be serious!
I LOVE CHANGE! We have a hollowed out basketball that we put our change in. A long time ago, I had a sign that said 1,000,000,000.00 on it. Yes, that would have been 1 million dollars in pennies. It made me appreciate the penny and it's amazing value . We are not close to the million dollars yet, but I have to say that we collected pennies for so long, they came in handy for an emergency. The bank teller could not believe how many pennies I brought in to change to bills. I can't remember how much it was because it was a long time ago, but let's just say that it helped us in a time of need. Enjoy your change! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLOVE this Ang.....it's so funny...I wrote about silliness but so many people like it! :)

DeletePS Is your blog new? I love your writing style!
DeleteThis is funny because when I saw the word change I was thinking of things changing, not coins. lol. Shows how serious I take things all the time, so annoying! :) I love your view on change, I shall look at my coins differently now because of this post. lol
ReplyDeleteSalena, thank you! It's funny that the first thing that came to my mind was money....and I laughed out loud. I thought it would be so ridiculous to write about...but I'm usually so silly I thought why not? And I guess everyone has change issues.....so :) Hope all is well with your family!
Deletewhat a fun post! We have a jar we stash all the change we find. You are right----it does add up!
